1958 G.M.C. 300
Manufactured by the General Motors Corporation of Detroit, Michigan.

This truck is from the second to last year of production for this particular body style. It is powered by a General Motors 270 C.I.D. straight six-cylinder engine. It develops 130 hp. @ 3600 rpm. A 15,000-pound G.V.W. was further featured. This truck is unusual in that while an air operated system is used for the trailer brakes, the truck has a vacuum over hydraulic braking system. It is unusual for there to be a combination of air, hydraulic, and vacuum systems on any truck. In 1958, General Motors built 61,768 trucks. This particular truck was used on a tree farm in Valley Center before being brought out to Vista.
